Sports Betting Components

NESN.com articles are the highly trafficked pages in all of NESN’s digital ecosystem. NESN Bets seemed to be more of an afterthought but we wanted to try to get some betting content into the main article pages and possibly move some traffic to the NESN Bets site. We decided to make a few components for the content team to inject into their stories.

I built featured matchups, player props, and live odds components. The components pull from multiple SportRadar APIs. I needed to map out all of the API endpoints and show how it populated the web components.

Featured matchups show game information, over/under, moneyline, and spread information. Player props show game and player information as well as the prop’s over/under data based on the best odds available from a variety of sportsbooks. Live odds is a drop down that shows league game schedules. Each game shows over/under, moneyline, and spread information. For player props, I also needed to build out logic/ui for the WordPress admin area to make selecting a prop easy for the content editor.
